Geomorphologyfor Engineers is a substantial 851-page book published in Scotland by Whittles Publishing and distributed within the United States by CRC Press. The distinction between publisher and distributor is notable only because it means the book has two ISBN numbers: 0-8493-9641-7 for the United States and 1-870325-03-6 for the rest of the world. It retails for $229.95 on the CRC Press web site and can be found at prices ranging from $206.76 to $552.53 on bookselling web sites.
In their preface, the editors write that the book is neither comprehensive nor systematic, and therefore cannot be considered a textbook. They suggest that the book is intended to serve as an aide memoire for engineers whose work touches upon geomorphology.
